The 30th World Elephant Polo Association (WEPA) Championships will be held from the 27th November to the 3rd December 2011.
The venue for The WEPA World Cup is Tiger Tops, the iconic & world famous wildlife haven, in the heart of the Chitwan National Park, about 300?? kilometres south-west of Katmandu.
The Championships are played on the idyllic grass airfield of Meghauly, a short landrover drive and scenic boat ride from the lodge itself. It's a colourful and wonderfully friendly scene as local villagers flock from miles around to watch their favourite event of the year.
In addition to the annual WEPA World Championships 2011 at Tiger Tops, 2012 will be a groundbreaking year as the Tiger Mountain Group welcome the Ceylon Elephant Polo Association (CEPA) to hold their Taprobane Trophy at the Tiger Tops Karnali Lodge by Bardia National Park.
The CEPA Taprobane Cup at Karnali will be held over the first week of March 2012 and hosted both by Geoffrey Dobbs (President CEPA).
